November

“November” was a dark album, man. I attempted to paint a picture of some heavy experiences with the words and music. Close relationships with friends and a girl I was dating at the time, man, those were the subjects. The canvas of the heart, dude, it was brilliant red, like a sunset. Justice and equity were the vibes, signed by nature’s hand, but there was this tower of passion that had to fall.

Sealed and signed on a dotted line, the sands covered a love that had gone dusty. The ancient wind stirred up the dreamer’s world, and the question was, “Would she still love me?” Man, it’s all about making things like they used to be.

Life can get hard, tearing us up inside, but there’s hope. Let’s turn it around, brother, and keep on rolling.

I watched your world crumble before my eyes, and I felt that pain. But the one who loved me shut her eyes, so young and frail. We’ve been trying to love, but sometimes we get too tired to cry and trust. So death gave me her hand, she gave me her promise to take away my pain, man. But I managed to escape.

Maynard Wade’s “Fire Hydrant,” big red and standing alone. Nobody noticed, nobody cared. It just wanted someone to look at it, to touch it without hurt, and to see it for what it could be. Man, can it hold its gin? There’s gushing water trying to get out, how did it get in? La, la, la, la, di da…

“I Will Wait for You,” was about having 12 months left together before I had to leave for college. But I’ll wait for you, love growing stronger. I dream of your ruby smiles. Through the miles, my heart keeps the fire burning.

“When She’s Gone,” brother, it’s a trip. She’s not with him, but she’s not with me. My mind’s racing like the wind, and I gotta get it together, realize she cares. Because when love goes astray, I start to crumble. The pain’s too much, and I dream about the girl. Yeah, that’s the deal.

“November,” man, it’s deep. So much pain, and the dream of it ending. But it’s always there, that suffering. The one who loved me shut her eyes, too tired to go on trusting. Death gives her hand, her promise, understanding. She’ll take away that pain, man.

“Man’s Destruction” is a cry for the creatures and the planet. We destroy and abuse, paint their bodies red, make them scream with horror. In the automated world, we construct roads and highways, neglecting their right to live and stay. In my heart, I feel their destruction, in my tears, I see my reflection.

Yeah, the album “November” was a journey through the highs and lows of life, man, a road paved with love, suffering, and contemplation. It’s like a Kerouac novel set to music, filled with longing, longing for connection, and a sense of being on the road, searching for meaning in the world.
